You or the other guy?

Every day we make choices - some harder than others. And every day we have options to do what's right, or to do what's easy. Many times those choices revolve around how we treat others.

  1. Whether to take credit for something someone else did...or give credit where it's due.

  2. Whether to speak poorly of someone...or help them improve.

  3. Whether to blame others...or take responsibility.

The list is longer, but the 3 above account for decisions we make in the workplace every day that define the culture we create and the impression we make on others.

When I feel great - it's usually because someone got ahead, and I helped.

When I feel bad - I usually realize I'm guilty of not doing the right thing regarding one of the 3 points above, and course correction is warranted.

Help someone get ahead, and you'll reap positive rewards for years to come.

Get yourself ahead at a cost to others, and you'll also be rewarded for years to come - it just won't be pleasant.
