My husband knows almost everything about the music of our generation. I do not. I know a lot about the music of my parent's generation - because that's what they played.
So a few years ago we were driving around with Richard's iPod playing, and Ooh La La, by the Faces comes on and I love it (having not heard it about a century ago when it came out).
"I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger."Who doesn't wish for that? What a deal that would be!
While there is a lot of wisdom you could apply to the decisions you made in youth, there's also a lot that happens when you're younger that you wish you had better appreciated at the time.

- Fireworks on the 4th of July
- Birthday parties
- Bobbing for apples
- Back-to-school outfits
- Car trips and sitting up front
- Waiting for reindeer on the roof
- Snow suits from grandparents
- Thinking Mom was the most beautiful woman ever
- Drive-in movies in the back of the station wagon
- Finding out Dad had a sense of humor
I thought of this last night, on the 4th of July. I was missing my parents and recollecting the times in Connecticut that they took me and my sister to see fireworks and made a great big deal over it. It was exciting, terrifying, fun, elaborate and special.
