525,600 minutes

Thinking about the past year and all that's occurred, I remembered the question posed in a song from RENT, "In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes, how do you measure, a year in the life?"

For those in the financial services sector, the answers to that question are many and varied. But I've created my own measurements:
  • 6 friendships more solidly grounded in common values and mutual respect
  • 5 hours/week to spend on things of importance vs. worrying about things beyond control
  • 4 individuals who are more giving than I ever expected
  • 3 new ideas to research
  • 2 people to avoid at all costs
  • 1 spouse who is there no matter what
It has been a rough year for many, and the future holds more challenges. But if you recall the ending of the song SEASONS OF LOVE..."It's time now to sing out, tho' the story never ends. Let's celebrate, remember, a year in the life of friends."

My reflecting is done and I'm focusing on the next 525,600 minutes. I'm glad I have people I like to share the journey.
